    Employees celebrate at Parfetts

Employees across the Parfetts depot network have celebrated EO Day on 23 June. The occasion provides an opportunity for UK-owned businesses to celebrate and raise awareness of the benefits of employee ownership.

Staff in Parfetts eight depots enjoyed a mixture of music, free pizza and fun to mark the day. Parfetts has been an employee-owned business since 2018. The company’s staff have a say in the direction of the business through an employee voice council in each depot.

As part of the EO Day celebrations, the business announced the sales growth bonus in July will be four per cent. Parfetts employees also enjoy a regular sales growth bonus paid in July and a profit share bonus paid in October, which allows everyone to share in the success of the business.

“EO Day provides a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together and remind ourselves what makes Parfetts special,” said Guy Swindell, joint managing director of Parfetts. “Employee ownership gives us the freedom to go the extra mile for our customers and be kind to each other. Everyone in the business has a say in the future of Parfetts, and we believe that it sets us apart from competitors.”

In March, Parfetts announced an extraordinary pay rise of 7.5 per cent for salaried staff to help them manage the rising cost of living. While weekly paid employees see an increase of 9.6 per cent to hourly rates.

Staff also benefited from an extra day of paid holiday, and colleagues can take additional unpaid holidays to a maximum allowance of 38 days for full-time staff.

Parfetts is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the UK (28th). The top 50 largest employee-owned companies account for £23.1bn in sales and employ over 181,000 people.
