Beyond Meat and PepsiCo partnership unveils first product

Planet Partnership, a joint venture between Beyond Meat and PepsiCo, has announced the debut of Beyond Meat Jerky.

The plant-based jerky is the first product from the joint venture, founded last year by the companies to create innovative snack and beverage products made with plant-based protein.

“We are thrilled to introduce the first product from Planet Partnership, our joint venture with Beyond Meat and PepsiCo,” said Dan Moisan, chief executive of Planet Partnership. “It tastes great, it’s a good source of protein, and it’s convenient to eat whether you’re on the go, at the office or out on adventures.”

Offering a full-flavored, on-the-go snack experience, the product is available in three flavors, Original, Hot & Spicy and Teriyaki, and contains 10g of protein per serving, no cholesterol. It is made with simple, plant-based ingredients like peas and mung beans, all without GMOs, soy or gluten.

Launched in the US, Beyond Meat Jerky is Beyond Meat’s first shelf-stable product with three different sized packs, unlocking new channels of distribution for the brand. The company said the launch signals the first of many plant-based protein innovations.
