Lowlander unveils low ABV tropical ale

Dutch botanical brewing pioneer Lowlander has added a tropical ale to its range.

With a low ABV of 3.8%, the new Islander beer is made using Lowlander’s unique brewing method: a hybrid infusion of botanicals and beer, as well as herbs, spices and fruits.

Lowlander Islander Tropical Ale is brewed with oranges from the island of Curaçao, in the Caribbean, and dragonfruit.

Frederik Kampman, Lowlander founder, said: “Inspired by our travels to continental beaches in Europe and slightly more tropical days in the Dutch Caribbean, we wanted to brew a beer inspired by the Island of Curaçao.

“We are delighted to launch our Islander Tropical Ale in the UK – we feel the timing for the introduction of our Tropical Ale couldn’t be better. Consumers are actively seeking out lower alcohol options and with Lowlander Tropical Ale we can offer the refreshment of a beer, with the tropical, fruity flavour character of a non-alcoholic craft soda, without compromising on flavour.”

Priced from £3.00 for 33cl, the new variant is available to the trade and consumers online from Westons Cider and Bath Road Beers.
