Surya Foods charity’s Stay In, Bake In campaign to fund food parcels for NHS workers

World Food Aid (WFA), an affiliated charity to world food specialists Surya Foods, has launched a fundraising campaign to support the supply of food parcels to NHS key workers.

The Stay In, Bake In campaign is being backed by key influencers and celebrity chefs, with Chinese TV chef Ching He-Huang and beauty blogger Sophie Hannah among those to have already pledged their support.

Harry Dulai, managing director of Surya Foods and WFA founder and trustee, said: “This campaign asks very little of us but has the capacity to give a fantastic boost to tired NHS staff working day and night. Staff who have little time to think about how and when they can shop – at a time when nutrition is vital to their health and wellbeing.

“It is also a fun way to pass a few hours with the kids and feel like you are contributing just a little to help those who are sacrificing and risking so much to help us.”

People can donate by texting BAKEIN2 to donate £2 or BAKEIN5 to donate £5 or BAKEIN10 to donate £10 to 70085. The funds raised from the campaign will be used to create food parcels for NHS key workers, featuring essentials like milk, pasta, rice, tea and vitamins.

The campaign also builds on the inspirational rainbow craze that is sweeping the nation.  In her recent speech Queen Elizabeth declared the rainbows drawn by children in windows would be the “symbol” of the nation’s fight against the disease.

“The moments when the United Kingdom has come together to applaud its care and essential workers will be remembered as an expression of our national spirit,” she said.

“And its symbol will be the rainbows drawn by children.”
