Midlands based, fast-growing soft drinks wholesaler Westo Direct today (Feb 26) announced the launch of a new dedicated Scottish distribution site, significantly strengthening its ability to serve retailers, cash & carry operators and independent businesses across Scotland.
The new site is located in Bonnybridge, between Glasgow and Edinburgh. It will be operational by next week.
The new facility will allow Westo Direct to hold stock closer to Scottish customers, improving delivery times, increasing availability and enhancing overall service levels across the region.
For independent retailers, speed and reliability are critical, particularly in high-turnover categories such as soft drinks. By positioning inventory within Scotland, Westo Direct aims to reduce lead times and ensure faster replenishment for customers operating in competitive local markets.
The expansion reflects the company’s continued investment in infrastructure designed to support wholesale growth and protect retailer margins through improved supply chain efficiency.
With soft drinks remaining a key footfall-driving category for convenience and independent stores, consistent availability and rapid turnaround are essential. The new site strengthens Westo Direct’s ability to respond quickly to demand spikes, promotional activity and seasonal trends.
The Scottish distribution centre will be operational commencing next week and servicing customers across the region.
Comment from Joe Thomas, UK Sales Director, Westo Direct, told Asian Trader, "This is a game-changer for our Scottish customers.
"Retailers today don’t just need competitive pricing; they need speed, reliability and consistent availability. By launching our new Scottish distribution site, we’re bringing stock closer to our customers and making it easier than ever for independents and cash & carry operators to access the products that drive their sales.
"Our focus has always been on service as much as supply. This expansion allows us to respond faster, support local retailers more effectively and strengthen our presence in a key growth region for the business.
"It’s a major step forward in how we serve Scotland."
