This week, Wanis – a leading distributor and exporter of food and drink from around the world – welcomed councillors, business owners, charity leaders and former Mayors to its Christmas Bonanza, kicking off the festive season.
A community-focused engagement and promotional day featuring supplier partners, local officials, community organisations, and police representatives was hosted on Monday 1 December at the Wanis depot in Lea Bridge.
The aim was to strengthen relationships, support community initiatives, increase customer awareness of products and increased sales, creating positive customer interaction opportunities.
Guests enjoyed supplier showcases, tastings and live entertainment, and what seemed to be a crowd-favourite Tropical Sun taxi photo spot and a brilliant steel drum band bringing Christmas vibes to the warehouse.
Wanis also hosted the MET Police for a community safety guide, giving local shopkeepers the chance to discuss support around safeguarding and theft prevention during the busy season.
Head of community Paul Harrison thanked everyone who joined them, from partners such as Tilda, Asian Trader magazine and Palms Hotel to local councillors, faith groups, and retailers.
In attendance were Special Guest Abdul Hadi, director of Palms Hotel; Cllr Graham Williamson, Cabinet Member for Planning at Havering Council; Leslie Blowers, CEO of Mardyke Community Centre; Temitope Okidiya, Manager of Peckham Pantry; Sharon Waldron, Former Mayor of Waltham Forest; PC Dillon and the local Police Team; and Tilda's Senior National Account Manager, Paritosh Singhee;
Sanjay Wadhwani MD commented, “We are Proud to support the communities and businesses we serve."
