United Wholesale Scotland (UWS) today (June 13) has announced the launch of a newly revamped Day-Today store in Pentland Place in Kirkcaldy.

Operated by retailer Adeel, the store represents a fresh benchmark for UWS’s next-generation retail standards.

Following a comprehensive refit, the store now boasts modern features including doored refrigeration, a dedicated Beer Cave, an enhanced Food to Go section, and a redesigned counter with upgraded woodwork throughout.

As part of UWS’ wider digital rollout, new digital screens have been installed at the site. These enable Adeel to showcase current promotions and increase shopper engagement through interactive initiatives such as Spin to Win campaigns.

Going beyond aesthetics, Adeel is also aligning the store closely with the needs of the local community.

He has partnered with the Scottish Grocers' Federation (SGF) and is collaborating with local suppliers to provide a more community-focused range. The store is also actively supporting a local charity and running in-store promotions to further engage the neighbourhood.

The new Pentland Place store stands as a strong example of UWS’s ongoing investment in independent retail and community-driven convenience.

Earlier in May, UWS unveiled its ambitious plans to grow the business, raising turnover to £500million by 2030 – up from about £300m at the end of 2024.

Central to this ambitious growth strategy is a renewed focus on its Day-Today and USave symbol stores, alongside a reinforced proposition for independent operators.

It was reported that UWS aims to roll out substantial refits across 150 stores, backed by a bespoke EPOS system while some stores will see the installation of screens for promotional content and disruptor strips at shelf edges.
