Wholesale buying group Unitas has released the latest in its series of its mini category guides to boost independent retailers’ profitability.
Available now on the Plan for Profit website and app, Focus On Confectionery Spring Seasons is bursting with the latest sales data, practical advice and top tips to boost spring confectionery sales.
To support its wholesale members’ retail customers, the UK’s largest buying group has shared essential advice on price points, value, in-store activations and the bestselling SKUs for key selling occasions such as Mother’s Day and Easter.
“Mother’s Day is the number one mini season for confectionery, worth £79m,’ said Callum Atkinson, Category Coordinator, Unitas.

Another key occasion is Easter, which also presents convenience retailers with an opportunity to increase sales and footfall. Callum said: “Easter treats are showing strong year-on-year growth and are a proven hit from early in the season as an affordable treat.
