    Teenagers, who assaulted Hoylake c-storekeeper, charged in court

    Three teenagers, who are accused of a crime spree in Hoylake and West Kirby including an assault on a shopkeeper over the weekend, were caught and presented in the court. 

    According to local reports, on Saturday (11) morning, it was reported that a shopkeeper was assaulted by two males in Grove Park Convenience Store in Hoylake. The males made off from the scene, reports said,

    At around 1.30pm, police received a report that a female was approached by a group of three males who assaulted her on the Cinder Path, off Drummond Road.

    Two of the male suspects were reported to be the same as the suspects in the assault at Grove Park Convenience Store.

    It was further reported that the group of males had attempted to steal a pedal bike and verbally abused people on the path, reports said.

    Following CCTV enquiries, two males, aged 14 and 16, were arrested near West Kirby train station.

    Following an investigation, a third male, aged 15, was arrested at an address on Gresford Avenue. The address was searched and a knife was recovered, reports said, adding that all three males were taken into custody and questioned by police.

    A 16-year-old from Upton, a 15-year-old from Hoylake and a 14-year-old from Newton have been charged with attempted robbery, and two Section 4 public order offences.

    The 15-year-old was also charged with Section 18 Assault and Possession of a bladed article. He was remanded in custody.

    The 16-year-old and the 14-year-old were bailed. All three appeared in Merseyside Youth Remand Court on Monday (June 13).
