The Spice Tailor, a premium, authentic Indian and South East Asian meal kits and accompaniments brand from Premier Foods, is expanding beyond Asian-inspired cuisine for the very first time, building on its recent strong growth with the launch of a new Mexican range in its innovative meal kit format.

Mexican is the third biggest cuisine within World Food by value [Circana, 52w/e 17.05.25] and shoppers are looking to recreate delicious dishes that they eat out at Mexican restaurants, in the comfort of the home. The Spice Tailor’s new Mexican-inspired kits, available in a range of five flavours, look to help retailers to deliver on this demand with a meal kit made using quality ingredients.

The range was developed to allow the brand to stay true to its promise of restaurant quality, with the sauces made from real Mexican Ancho, Guajillo and Chipotle chillies, perfectly paired with tangy tomatillo or Pico de Gallo salsas.

Following the spice routes into cuisines where whole spices play a key role, The Spice Tailor said the introduction of a Mexican range was a natural fit – which includes Smoky BBQ Fajita, Original Taco, Original Enchilada, Chipotle & Lime Burrito and Classic Fajita – and these premium additions to the category are sure to stand out on shelf and meet the demand from existing and new shoppers.

“The Spice Tailor’s launch into the Mexican category marks a major milestone for the brand, as we expand beyond Asian cuisine into a completely new world food for the first time,” Andrey Sokirkin, Global Marketing Director of Foods, commented.

“With these five new kits, we’ve applied the same expertise that built our reputation in the Indian and Pan Asian categories to create restaurant-quality at-home meal propositions, where whole spices play a key role. This approach has supported our strong growth of 13.5 per cent in the Cooking Sauces market and continues to deliver value for retailers by attracting shoppers who are seeking exciting, great-tasting, and convenient food options.”

The sauces within the meal kits are cooked in small batches, with ingredients layered at each step for a deeper, richer flavour. The method of having pouches dividing whole spices, a salsa and a main sauce allows for each meal to be customisable offering huge versatility of use, whilst being convenient and easy to use to create delicious meals in minute.

The salsa is a key component of this new Mexican range and offers a piquant burst of fresh flavours and a kick of heat that perfectly complements and elevates each dish.
