Michael Fletcher has decided to leave his role as Managing Director of SPAR UK. He will step away from his day-to-day responsibilities at the end of August and leave the business at the beginning of November.
Michael joined SPAR UK in November 2024 and led the SPAR Central Office team through a significant phase of change. On behalf of the SPAR Food Distributors (SFD) Board, we would like to thank Michael for his leadership and contribution during his time with the business and wish him every success for the future.
SPAR UK is pleased to announce the appointment of Jerome Saint-Marc as its new Managing Director, with effect from 17th August.
Jerome is a highly experienced senior leader who brings a strong focus on delivering strategic value for all stakeholder groups. He brings 30 years’ experience across supply chain and retail, having held roles at Tesco, Morrisons, Wilko and, most recently, with Co-op.
His extensive expertise will be invaluable as SPAR UK continues to strengthen its operations and deliver its strategic priorities.
Martin Agnew has also taken on the role of Chair of SPAR Food Distributors (SFD) Board. Martin has served on the SFD Board for more than 25 years and brings extensive retail and wholesale experience to the role.
He succeeds Nick Bunker, who recently stepped down as Chair. The SFD Board would like to thank Nick for his significant contribution during his tenure.
The SFD Board remains fully committed to delivering SPAR UK's strategic priorities. Its focus continues to be on strengthening Central Office, supporting the four RDCs and helping independent SPAR retailers grow their businesses. These leadership changes do not alter that commitment.
