SPAR Scotland Ladybank store opening

SPAR Scotland opens larger Ladybank Market store

SPAR Scotland has officially opened its newest company-owned store, SPAR Market Ladybank, following the relocation of its existing store into a significantly larger, modernised premises in the heart of the village.

Located on Commercial Road, the new 1,747sqft store represents a substantial investment by CJ Lang & Son Ltd, Scotland’s SPAR wholesaler and independent convenience retailer. The move sees SPAR Scotland take over and fully refurbish a former Premier store directly opposite its previous site.

To mark the opening, the team hosted a "Grand Opening and Festive Celebration’ on Friday 5 December. The event featured Santa Claus, face painting, Christmas prizes and a “spin the wheel” competition, including two £100 SPAR voucher giveaways. Stuart’s Bakery and Thomson’s Tea offered free sampling to shoppers, while carol singing was performed by pupils from Ladybank Primary School.

As part of the celebrations, SPAR Scotland also made charitable donations of £500 each to Ladybank Primary School, Ladybank Youth Club and Ladybank Development Trust, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the local community.

“We are very happy to open SPAR Market Ladybank and deliver a much-enhanced shopping experience for the local community," said Frank McCarron, Company Owned Store Director for SPAR Scotland. "Moving into a larger, modern store allows us to offer an extended range, stronger value and improved services, all while maintaining the friendly, familiar SPAR service our customers rely on.

Ladybank SPAR has transferred to the new site, ensuring full continuity of service and has also recruited new colleagues from the local community.
