Post Office has announced the launch of its 1,000th Drop & Collect service at Adastra Stores on Chester Road in Tern Hill, Market Drayton.
Drop and Collect are innovative, light-format branches that help retailers adapt to parcel market growth and evolving consumer habits.
Unlike traditional Post Office branches offering over 170 services, Drop & Collect focuses on core parcel services and bill payments. Its counter-less design requires only minimal equipment and space, making it easy for retailers to integrate without disrupting their existing business.
Transactions are completed via handheld devices, enabling a seamless customer experience. Drop and Collect is a multi-carrier offering Royal Mail and some sites also offer Amazon Click and Collect.
Drop and Collect offers more convenience for the customer in terms of location as they can simply Drop and Collect whilst out shopping and the longer opening hours offered by most stores offering the service enhance the convenience.
Implementation was seamless, and customer feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive,” Pardeep Dodiya, retailer at Adastra Stores, said. “People love being able to drop or collect parcels while out shopping, and I’m confident this will boost footfall and revenue.”
Drop & Collect is exclusively operated from Payzone stores and is available to Post Office partners. Post Office said it plans to continue expanding Drop & Collect to meet rising demand for parcel services and provide retailers with agile solutions in a challenging retail environment.
“Reaching 1,000 Drop & Collect locations is a proud moment for us. Customers value the convenience, and retailers benefit from a simple, profitable solution that drives traffic and sales. This format strengthens our network and deepens collaboration with Royal Mail,” Steve Fox of Post Office’s transformation delivery network, said.
