Police are on the hunt to find a balaclava-clad robber and his accomplice who robbed a convenience store in Middlesbrough earlier this February.

According to local reports, officers were called to reports of an armed robbery in Middlesbrough on Feb 13. The incident happened around 8pm on Cumberland Road, Linthorpe, at Welcome Stores, whereby two masked males entered the store, with weapons.

The suspects made off with the contents of the till and the cigarette display, before briefly leaving and then returning and attempting to remove items from the alcohol counter. They then left the shop and made off on foot towards Albert Park.

The first male is described as a male wearing a black balaclava, a black Bench jacket with white detailing on both arms, blue Adidas jogging bottoms, black training shoes and carrying a Sports Direct bag for life and a large kitchen knife. He had a visible and distinctive tattoo on his right hand.

A second male wearing a makeshift maroon coloured face covering, a high visibility coat with ‘security’ written on the back, black bottoms and white or grey Nike trainers, grey gloves and believed to be in possession of a kitchen knife, reports stated.
