Police are offering a £20,000 reward for information about a killer who stabbed a convenience store owner to death in east London five years ago.

Ahmed Deen-Jah, 24, died after being attacked at the BJ Wines convenience shop on Freemasons Road, Canning Town, on April 2, 2017.

Met police officers on Friday (1) have released new CCTV images of a person they would like to speak to in connection with their investigation.

On the day of Ahmed’s death, the accused went into BJ Wines to buy a cigarette lighter. As per reports, he chased the store owner around the shop before attacking him, fatally stabbing him in the heart and causing a number of slash injuries to one of his hands.

Deen-Jah was given emergency first aid by medics, but died at the scene a short time later.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspect get into a black Mercedes car, which was parked outside the shop.

Three people, all aged 23, were arrested and were released under investigation while three men were released with no further action.

Shortly after the fourth anniversary of his death Ahmed’s younger brother, Abubakkar Junior Jah, was also stabbed to death in nearby Coolfin Road.

Ten people have been arrested in connection with Abubakkar’s murder and the investigation continues.
