Paul Bristow MP has been calling on the residents of Peterborough to nominate a convenience store or corner shop that went above and beyond during the pandemic.

Saying that convenience stores and corner shops have been crucial for many across Peterborough during the pandemic, Bristow tweeted today (19) to announce the launch of “Your Lifeline” competition under which he is inviting names of local shops or a particular member of staff and what they did to help or a stop that went above and beyond to ensure vulnerable people were supported by donating or delivery supplies.

“Convenience stores and corner shops have been crucial for many across Peterborough during the pandemic. The people that run these stores are true entrepreneurs and are rooted in their local communities. At the height of the pandemic the staff and owners put themselves at risk to ensure that we all had access to food and supplies throughout that difficult time,” Bristow said.

“In order to say thank you I am launching my “Your Lifeline” competition. I want to hear from you about your local shop – it might be about a particular member of staff and what they did to help or a stop that went above and beyond to ensure vulnerable people were supported by donating or delivery supplies.”
