Independent retailers across the PayPoint network have earned a combined £100,000 through PayPoint’s Retailer Rewards programme since its launch in April, as the payment services provider highlights the potential for convenience stores to generate additional income from brand-led campaigns.
The programme enables brands to engage directly with independent retailers by rewarding stores for stocking products and participating in campaigns. In return, brand partners gain greater visibility of activity at store level.
Retailer Rewards is available through PayPoint One and PayPoint Mini devices. Since its launch, PayPoint has partnered with brands including Reign Storm, Hershey’s and Crumpton Oaks.
PayPoint said the £100,000 earned by retailers represents an opportunity for more stores to benefit from the programme, with retailers able to access rewards through their existing PayPoint devices.
Ben Ford, Retailer Network and Operational Excellence Director at PayPoint, said the programme was designed to provide retailers with another way to generate value while helping brands understand what is happening in stores.
“Retailers are incredibly busy, so it’s understandable that opportunities can be missed, but even a quick check of the platform can unlock rewards that support day-to-day business costs,” he said.
The company said the programme also gives participating brands a way to build stronger relationships with independent retailers while gaining insight into how campaigns are performing at store level.
