Parfetts expands Aintree depot

Wholesaler Parfetts has completed an expansion of its Aintree depot to create greater capacity for its delivered operations, stated recent reports.

The expanded area has a dedicated loading area for deliveries and thus increased capacity, making the depot pleasanter for visitors, said the company.

The investment follows the company’s strategy of maintaining cash and carry while continuing to increase the delivered arm of the business.

Parfetts Aintreee has already seen deliveries increase by 40 per cent in the last two years.

It now delivers across the North West from North Manchester into the Lake District and down to Stoke-on-Trent and has hired 25 new staff to cope with demand.

The Aintree improvement project also saw a dedicated picking area developed within the depot, which creates more room for customers.

Parfetts was established in 1980 by the Parfetts family. A majority was sold to an Employee Trust Board in 2008, and the company became fully employee-owned in October 2018.

The company has grown 85 per cent in the last five years, has 4000 retail club members and more than 850 fascia stores.
