    Parfetts accelerates growth with a key appointment

    Parfetts has appointed Richard Bone as commercial director. He joins the business from Unitas where he was finance director for over three years.

    Richard will join the board, to support the commercial development within Parfetts stated growth plans of a £1 billion turnover and 2000 symbol store estate.

    Commenting on his move, Richard Bone, said, “Parfetts employee-owned model appealed to me because it allows the business to invest back into better serving its customers and supporting its staff. You can already see the impact of this approach with the fast growth of the depots and Go Local fascia, alongside a happy and long-serving team. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the company.”

    In its latest results, Parfetts announced turnover leapt 6.7 per cent to £646m, and operating profits increased 51 per cent to £8.5m from £5.6m in the last financial year. The profits will be invested back into the business with the continued expansion of its delivery network, depot operations and symbol estate.

    Through its Go Local and The Local fascia group, the company helps over 1,300 retailers. It also runs a retail club with over 5,000 members. Parfetts operates depots in Aintree, Anfield, Birmingham, Halifax, Middlesbrough, Sheffield, Somercotes, and Stockport.

    Guy Swindell, joint managing director of Parfetts, said: “Richard brings a wealth of experience and talent to the business, and we look forward to the impact he’ll make. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve our business and the service we offer customers. I believe that Richard strengthens our management team and will be a real asset going forward.”

    Bone will join Parfetts in late Summer 2024.
