Oddbird has announced the launch of three premium sparkling non-alcoholic wines in the UK, aiming to shake up the premium no/low wine category.
The brand is launching its Blanc de Blancs and Sparkling Rosé wines from France and its Spumante from Italy, which are produced using traditional methods and then “liberated from alcohol” using a unique, patented vacuum distillation method.
“We focus on natural wine-making with minimal processing. Doing so takes time, passion and relentless attention to every detail – from the choice of grapes and vineyards, to fermentation, alcohol removal and bottling. Our vineyards are carefully selected to ensure a natural strength in the wines, which are able to survive the dealcoholising process without losing their unique character,” said Moa Gürbüzer, who founded Oddbird in 2013.
Following their success in Scandinavia, where they are currently the largest producer of non-alcoholic wine, Oddbird is launching into the UK market, which has shown strong growth in the no/low wine category over the last year, via Proof Drinks.
“Proof is delighted to be representing Oddbird in the UK. As soon as I tasted the Oddbird range I knew the quality level of alcohol-free wines had been raised. The wines are truly delicious, complex and authentic and I just can’t wait to see what people think of them,” Jack Hibberd, commercial director at Proof Drinks, said.
“With one in three visits to hospitality venues now not involving alcohol and more and more drinkers cutting back on their consumption at home, Oddbird really meets an increasing demand for high quality products in this category.”
