Nisa launches new store in south Wales

Nisa

A new Nisa store has opened in South Wales, giving local shoppers another convenient option for groceries and everyday essentials.

Co-op Wholesale

Co-op Wholesale, the home of Nisa, has officially launched the new Nisa Port Talbot store.

Located on the Old Gasworks Estate, the brand-new Swansea convenience store is the first Nisa shop for business owners, Yugrajvir Singh Bajwa and Parminder Singh of R&P Convenience Stores Ltd.

The new store gives local shoppers access to a wide range of everyday essentials, fresh food and Co-op brand products, offering them quality, value and convenience. Among the Co-op brand lines available to all Nisa symbols to stock are fresh and chilled, food-to-go, fresh produce, frozen and award-winning premium ranges, under the Irresistible moniker.

Nisa stores benefit from having exclusive symbol access to the Co-op brand, which brings a wealth of benefit to independent retailers’ customers, from recognisable products that fit their lifestyle to solutions for any meal or snacking occasion. Nisa retailers also receive far-reaching support, encompassing operations, supply chain, marketing and more.

The Co-op own-brand range offers quality products at competitive prices, giving local customers access to trusted products previously unavailable in the immediate area.

Phil Howell, Regional Development Manager at Co-op Wholesale, commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome Yugrajvir and Parminder into the Nisa group. It was brilliant to see the store officially open its doors to the local community – one we’re sure it will quickly become the beating heart of. We wish the team the very best of luck and are looking forward to working with them for many more years.”

Yugrajvir Singh Bajwa, Owner of Nisa Port Talbot, commented: "We're delighted to open our new store in Port Talbot and become part of the Nisa network. We want to provide local customers with a convenient shopping destination that delivers great value, excellent service and a fantastic range of products. We're especially excited to bring the quality and choice of the Co-op own-brand range to the community and look forward to welcoming shoppers through our doors."

Making a difference in the Community (MADL)

A unique point of difference and real draw for Nisa stores is Co-op Wholesale’s charity – Making A Difference Locally (MADL). It supports retail partners through fundraising via Co-op brand products’ sales to support causes local to stores.

Via MADL, £500 has been donated to Sandfields Rangers FC – a grassroots football club in Port Talbot that supports children, adults and disabled people to play and enjoy football.

Kate Carroll, Social Value Lead, at Co-op Wholesale, said: “Port Talbot Nisa chose to support Sandfields Rangers FC because they know how important its work is in this community. Through Making a Difference Locally, we’re proud to help independent retailers fund the causes that matter most to them and their customers, and we’re delighted these funds will support this special football club."
