French distillery Naud is dropping a brand-new rum in collaboration with Venezuelan distillery, Destilería Sofa: Ron Venezuela 12-year-old Golden Rum.
Distilled at 41 per cent, it is the second rum creation from the Naud family distillery, following Naud Rum Panama 15-year-old Rum.
The Naud family distillery was created in 1923, centred around an appreciation for unique and imaginative spirits. Five generations later, the family continues to produce a bold range of premium spirits.
Created in collaboration with Venezuelan hacienda Destilería Sofa, Naud Ron Venezuela is aged for 12 years outside the capital city of Caracas. The hot and humid daytimes and cool, dry nights of Venezuela provide the perfect climate for ageing the rum.
The unique flavour originates from the essential sugarcane, cultivated from some of the most fertile lands in Venezuela, and carefully harvested during the winter months. Following fermentation, the sugar cane molasses, also known as ‘Black Gold’ is distilled on columns.
“Over the past century, NAUD has been providing the drinks market with premium spirits, imbued with rich heritage and a bold sense of adventure,” said Chris Jones, Managing Director at Paragon Brands, which distributes NAUD in the UK.
“With the rum market continuing to grow in 2024, we’re confident that Ron Venezuela’s unique origins and delightful palette will excite the tastebuds of rum enthusiasts everywhere.”
NAUD Ron Venezuela 12-Year-Old Golden Rum is available in the UK in 70cl bottles from Paragon Brands. RRP. £46.99
