Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the sale of the lease for the Morrisons Daily branded convenience store located within the Sky Plaza student accommodation complex in Leeds city centre.

Just a short walk from Leeds Beckett University and the First Direct Arena, the 24/7 store benefits from high footfall and a built-in student customer base. It offers the full Morrisons Daily convenience range and is integrated with Amazon and Deliveroo to provide rapid local delivery services.

Following a confidential sales process with Steve Riley, Retail Business Agent at Christie & Co, and with funding arranged by Nathan McFarlane at Christie Finance, the store lease has been acquired by Suresh Kancharla of SS Off License Limited, who has a growing UK-wide portfolio.

“This acquisition represents a significant opportunity to expand our portfolio and leverage our expertise to drive further success. The store’s location, strong brand backing, and built-in customer base made it an ideal fit for our growth strategy,” said Suresh.

The seller, Amit Patel, is choosing to sell to focus on other business opportunities.

Steve Riley, Business Agent at Christie & Co, commented, “Morrisons Daily on Claypit Lane is a well-established convenience store in a prime urban location, offering strong potential for future growth. I’m pleased to have worked alongside Nathan McFarlane at Christie Finance to successfully facilitate this transaction between two committed parties. The sale highlights the continued momentum in the convenience retail sector and the robust demand for branded, high-footfall stores. I’m confident the business is well-positioned to thrive under its new ownership.”

Nathan McFarlane, Finance Consultant at Christie Finance, added, “It has been a pleasure to have supported our client in fulfilling his growth ambitions by providing a comprehensive finance package for this key acquisition. I wish Suresh all the best with his future endeavours.”

The store leasehold was sold for an undisclosed sum.
