Morrisons launches exclusive loyalty promotion for franchise convenience stores

Independent retailers running Morrisons Daily stores will soon benefit from a new loyalty push as Morrisons launches its first franchise-exclusive promotion under the More Card scheme.

From 8 October, customers who spend £15 or more in participating Morrisons Daily franchise stores will receive an additional 1,500 More Card Points. With 5,000 Points redeemable for a £5 voucher, the new “Spend-stretch” offer gives shoppers an extra incentive to visit their local franchise-operated store.


The move marks the latest milestone in the rollout of the Morrisons More Card loyalty scheme to independent partners, which began this summer. Morrisons Daily operators were the first franchise convenience retailers in the UK to provide access to a supermarket-branded loyalty programme – a point of difference that Morrisons hopes will strengthen footfall and spend.

Alongside the new promotion, Morrisons is expanding its convenience product range with the addition of more than 200 new own-label lines over the next five weeks. Over half of the new lines will be fresh products, including 30 from the retailer’s premium The Best range.

“Rolling out the More Card in franchise stores is part of our commitment to driving value for our customers however they shop with us,” Katharine Challinor, Head of Retail for Franchise at Morrisons, said. “This exclusive promotion is a significant opportunity for our franchise partners, as well as a celebratory moment for us as the More Card roll-out nears completion in these stores.”

Morrisons currently operates around 1,700 Morrisons Daily stores, with more than 700 of these run by franchise partners across forecourts and neighbourhood locations.
