Man charged with robbery at the Co-op shop on Bramford Lane

Police have charged a man with robbery at the Co-op shop on Bramford Lane and other offenses following an incident in Ipswich.

Officers were called to the Co-op shop on Bramford Lane in Ipswich on Wednesday, 22 December following reports of a robbery at about 10.35pm. A male entered the store with a meat cleaver and demanded money from the shop assistants. He then left the store with two bottles of vodka. No-one was hurt in the incident.


Officer arrested a man a short while after at about 11pm and he was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. 25 year old Jamie Foster of Richmond Road in Ipswich was charged with robbery, possession of a bladed weapon and public order.

He was remanded in custody and is to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Friday 24 December.
