Leading biscuit brand LU has expanded its indulgent biscuit portfolio in the UK with the launch of LU Le Petit Chocolat Noir.

Available now, the new variant builds on the success of the brand’s top-selling product, Le Petit Chocolat, by introducing a sophisticated dark chocolate twist, designed to elevate “indulgent and pampering moments” for consumers.

“LU Le Petit Chocolat Noir is a natural next step for the brand,” Georgia Hartley, brand manager for LU at Mondelēz International, says.

“Dark chocolate is synonymous with premium indulgence, and this launch allows us to build on the success of our No. 1 product. We know our shoppers are looking for moments of indulgence and self-treating, and this new variant delivers a beautifully refined biscuit experience that stays true to LU’s French heritage.”

Since launching in the UK in 2021, LU has grown to be worth over £20 million, supported by a leading repeat rate in the Special Treat Biscuits segment [Nielsen, 05.02.2026]. The brand’s success has been driven by its strong French credentials, premium positioning and ability to deliver indulgent moments that resonate with shoppers.

LU noted that biscuit shoppers are increasingly seeking high quality treats to enjoy during moments of relaxation, such as nestling up with a hot drink in the evening, which is the perfect occasion for consuming dark chocolate biscuits.
