Lipton Teas and Infusions, the owner of brands such as PG Tips, Lipton, and Pukka, has announced the appointment of Marc Busain as its new Chief Executive, starting Oct 1.

He will replace Pierre Laubies, who is returning to the company’s Supervisory Board after serving in the role for a year.

Belgian national Busain has spent most of his career with Heineken, initially joining their Finance team in 1995.

After 2003, he assumed a series of country leadership roles and delivered consistent results across Europe, Africa, and the Americas. In 2015, he joined Heineken’s global Executive Team as President for the Americas.

Jean-Remy Roussel, the company’s current Supervisory Board Chair, said, “I am very pleased to welcome Marc to LIPTON Teas and Infusions on behalf of the Supervisory Board. Marc has tremendous global experience in the consumer packaged goods sector and a track record of consistently delivering growth.

“With his strong commercial acumen and leadership, I have every confidence that the world’s leading tea business is in good hands. I also look forward to having Pierre rejoin us on the Supervisory Board and thank him for his hands-on management during this period.”

Busain added, “It is a tremendous pleasure to join a company with responsibility for such a collection of storied and much-loved brands.

"Tea, in all its varied forms, is an exciting growth category, and I look forward to working with the talented team at LIPTON Teas and Infusions to ensure there’s a tea for everyone.”

Last month, it was revealed that Lipton Teas and Infusions UK returned to profit in 2024, two years after being carved out from Unilever.
