Lancashire Tea announces partnership with North West Air Ambulance Charity

    A brew for the crew

Lancashire Tea is proudly celebrating National Tea day with the announcement of its partnership with the North West Air Ambulance Charity in support of its annual Brew for the Crew” fundraising campaign.

The crew of highly skilled doctors and critical care paramedics, work 365 days of the year to provide emergency pre-hospital care to thousands of patients each year covering 5,500 square miles and over eight million people.

The organisation is a registered charity, is not part of the NHS and doesn’t receive any government funding. It relies completely on public and corporate donations to carry on saving lives.

The ‘brew for the crew’ encourages the local community to get together and put the kettle on to raise money over a cuppa. Lancashire Tea has delivered 10,000 tea bags to the charity to provide a brew for supported-led events. The first 50 par-teas signed up will get a Lancashire Tea hamper with a stash of tea bags, mug and a tea towel to dry all the pots at the end of the gathering.

“The North West Air Ambulance Charity must raise over £12 million every year to continue its lifesaving service which seems an incredible feat and that’s before they get off the ground to save lives all over the region,” said Stephen Knight, Managing Director of Lancashire Tea.

“As a brilliant brew it feels only right that we should be doing our bit to support this amazing fundraising initiative. We’ve also delivered enough tea to the crew to keep them hydrated and ready for the next call out, which can be up to seven times every day.”

Over the past two years as the Lancashire Tea brand has enjoyed huge growth it has supported a wide range of North West charities through its Communi-tea campaign. Its partnership with the North West Air Ambulance Charity is its largest to date.

Chris Andrews, Corporate Officer at the North West Air Ambulance Charity said: ”We’re so pleased to be working with Lancashire Tea this year and delighted they are sponsoring our Brew For the Crew campaign.

“Their support will allow us to continue saving lives across Lancashire and the whole of the North West.”
