JJ launches Collect & Save campaign in response to driver shortage

JJ Foodservice has launched a Collect & Save campaign, offering savings of up to 30 per cent on foodservice essentials when customers order and pay online for collection and buy five cases or more.

The wholesaler said the campaign is launched to remind customers about the benefits of collection and to help reduce the pressure on UK haulage drivers.

“With the UK market currently short on HGV drivers and new customers coming to us weekly, we need to make sure we have the support in place to maintain our high service levels,” said Sezer Ozkul, JJ’s chief product officer.

Customers who order and pay online for collection usually pay up to 15 per cent less than the delivery price. This will increase to 30 per cent when five cases or more are purchased on selected products. New products will be promoted every week as part of the campaign.

“Promoting Collect & Save will help to remind our customers that they can make fantastic savings when they buy in bulk, for collection,” Ozkul added.

The campaign has kicked off with Diet Coke priced at just £5.99 for 24x330ml when the customer buys five cases or more for collection, the equivalent of 25p per can. This compares with £7.49 for less than five cases for collection or £8.79 for delivery.

JJ’s click and collect service is available seven days a week via its website and mobile app. Deliveries are still available for a minimum order of £79, plus VAT.

The wholesaler is currently recruiting drivers across the UK with an inclusive recruitment campaign designed to help HGV driver roles appeal to more women.
