Jisp launches web version in bid to reach wider audience

Jisp has announced the launch of an online version of the app, strengthening its ability to engage with a far wider convenience audience.

Shoppers will now be able to use the full services available from Jisp via their local store without downloading an app, from ordering groceries for delivery, to saving on big brands in store with Scan & Save.

“We want to give our Jisp customers a great experience for them to decide which experience works for them, using the services on offer locally at their convenience. Our belief is that many will prefer to use the online experience to trial or exclusively use the services from Jisp at their local store,” Greg Deacon CCO of Jisp, said.

“Many customers will move over to a full app experience once they become confident using the in-store service Scan & Save and augmented reality vouchers. Incrementally, delivery will benefit from those ordering at home or at work to get groceries delivered locally. This should increase shoppers, frequency of orders and value of basket for our partner stores.”

Commenting on the website, Jack Matthews, Bradley’s Supermarket, Scan & Save retailer, said: “Jisp’s website is the new, frictionless way shoppers can access Jisp as they are longer required to download the Jisp app.  They can now simply access Jisp via any web enabled device.  This will open Jisp up to new users and we look forward to welcoming even more Jisp shoppers!”

Home Delivery retailer Craig Warren from Corner Stores added: “For me there is no downside to being able to offer both a shopping app and an online based shop for placing Home Delivery orders with my store. Jisp’s website will open the door for potential new customers who don’t have a smartphone or who are distrusting of apps.

“It may appeal more to the older generation who are used to shopping via the web. I think it is great to have the option for my customers! The key is to encourage them to use it, once they have done it the first time, usually they will then repeat shop. I’m looking forward to seeing whether this helps increase my Home Delivery orders by giving my customers another more familiar way to shop.”

Deacon continued: ‘’With Scan & Save, 12 per cent of daily users of Jisp are under the age of 20 and 17 per cent are over 50. We expect to increase both age groups using Jisp with the web version. This age groups will help the continued growth in sales, revenue, and margin for our participating retail partners, alongside the thousands already using the full app experience.”

The new website version will be launched on 16 February. All stores on Home Delivery, Click and Collect and Scan & Save will be issued new point-of-sale materials in-store to communicate the new way of shopping from Jisp for out of home or in-store services locally.
