Cambridge's vegan Indian restaurant Namaste Village has opened a "superstore" to sell vegetarian and vegan products to serve businesses as well as individuals.

The store called Namaste Bazaar, located at Coral Park Trading Estate in Henley Road, Cambridge, is promising to offer "wholesale-like savings" for retailers.

Local media outlet quoted a spokesperson for Namaste Village, which also has restaurants in Norwich, Twickenham and Southend-On-Sea, as saying, "For us, the opening of Namaste Bazaar Cambridge store marks the realisation of our vision to make environmentally sustainable, vegetarian, and vegan choices easily accessible to all.

"Namaste Bazaar, until now, has been a dedicated space within our restaurants, offering the very groceries we use in our own restaurant kitchens, packaged beautifully and priced affordably. Our mission has always been to help more people discover and embrace the benefits of vegetarian and vegan lifestyles, and we recognise that this could not be achieved through restaurants alone.

"We knew our food needed to reach people’s hearts and then make its way to their homes. It did not seem very practical to simply hope that people pick vegetarian and vegan options without making those options easily available to them.

"This was the seed of the Namaste Bazaar store idea, and with the opening of Namaste Bazaar Cambridge, that vision has finally become a reality. More choices and more power to the people; the choice is now with you!"

Namaste Bazaar's opening event is set to happen today (31) and is open to all. Visitors will be able to enjoy the store's opening ceremony, free Indian snacks, masala tea, vouchers and discounts.

Namaste Bazaar is founded by Vijay Jetani and Dalsukh Jetani who started restaurant called Namaste India in Norwich. Ketan Vaghasiya is also a co-founder in the restaurant.
