    Hartlepool c-store shop worker threatened with knife

    A shop worker was allegedly threatened with a knife by a masked man in a terrifying robbery on Saturday (26). A man was arrested and later released on bail.

    According to local reports, the incident of robbery happened at McColl’s convenience store in Elwick Road, Hartlepool between 7.25pm and 7.40pm. A man who had his face covered threatened a male staff member with a knife and took cash from the till.

    A 30-year-old man was later arrested, interviewed and bailed pending further inquiries.

    The police has appealed for witnesses and CCTV footage regarding the matter.

    A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “We would appeal for any witnesses and anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage to contact Cleveland Police on the 101-number quoting ref 033112.
