Hancocks unveils its depot of the year

Leading confectionery wholesaler Hancocks has named its Bristol depot as store of the year 2023.

The team, led by Bristol store manager Daniel Hancock, won the accolade for their ‘passion and enthusiasm, hard work, always putting the customer first and for their friendly and welcoming approach’.

They were voted for by employees from the wholesaler, which has 14 cash and carry stores nationwide and an online channel.

The Hancocks store has been in Bristol since 1983, and supplies thousands of confectionery treats to independent retailers, theme parks, online confectionery businesses and leisure outlets across the city.

The store was praised for its fantastic customer journey, friendly and welcoming team and always putting the customer at the forefront.

They also won admiration for their ability to embrace new ideas and concepts, helping to put Hancocks front of mind for independent retailers locally.

Store manager Daniel was singled out for his organisation, planning a season ahead and forward thinking approach.

“The team at the Bristol store do a fantastic job, as do our teams at depots across the UK. They all work hard for our customers, understand the product range, are up to date with new innovations in confectionery and know exactly what will work well with different customers,” Jonathan Summerley, Hancocks chief executive, said.

“What makes this award for the Bristol store so special is that it was voted for by fellow employees here at Hancocks. We all recognise what makes an exceptional team and Daniel and the Bristol staff hit that time and time again.

“We get some excellent feedback from customers who we speak to regularly about customer service. One customer said: ‘The store we use in Avonmouth has brilliant, helpful, friendly staff and they always tell us what’s selling well at the moment or what’s trending.’ Another added: ‘We have always received prompt, on time deliveries. Daniel and his team at Bristol go above and beyond any help we need.’

“We’re proud of all those staff who work in our depots across the UK – the exceptional customer service is testament to over 60 years in business.”
