Cobwebs, giant spiders and a dangling skeleton have taken over Gulf Bridge End Service Station in Durham this Halloween, as the site's team turns a forecourt stop into a seasonal destination.
Windows and doors are draped in spooky webbing, glow-in-the-dark footprints lead customers across the shop floor, and pumpkin lanterns hang from the ceiling. Witches, ghosts and skeletons peer out from the glass, creating a playful welcome for drivers and local families.
The in-store theming shows how Gulf sites are using low-cost, high-impact seasonal dressing to boost footfall, build dwell time and give customers a reason to visit beyond fuel.
"Our customers love Halloween, especially kids and families, and we wanted the store to feel fun the moment they pull onto the forecourt,” says Tracey Wright, Store Manager at Gulf Bridge End.
“Cherie Jones and the rest of the team have had a brilliant time getting creative, and the reaction from customers has been fantastic. It's a simple way to make a quick stop feel a bit more special."
Tracey adds: “We encourage the village children to pop in and show us their fancy dress costumers and pick up a few trick or treat sweets.”
