Award winning retailer Nathalie Fullerton has swicthed the symbol group of her Dumbarton Road store in Glasgow to Go Local, announcing abrupt departure from One Stop.
Fullerton raised some eyebrows earlier this week when she announced the same on social media, hinting that her store is now under Go Local and not One Stop.
According to reports, Fullerton felt that One Stop model was not fitting her store anymore. There were also issues of availability, delivery of wrong items and issues with returns.
The store is undergoing a refit and was set to officially open as Go Local on March 30.
However, reports state that Fullerton was forced to take down the One Stop sign from the store weeks before the decided time after One Stop sent a contractor to do the same while charging her £3,000.
Fullerton also stated that One Stop never full understood her store's requirements of impulse line and kept trying sell her things like grocery.
The retailer is the winner of Local Hero Award winner at the 2024 Asian Trader Awards for her extraordinary dedication to both her store and her community.
A first-generation retailer with no prior experience, she faced dismissive attitudes early on but pushed through remarkable personal hardships, including running her store while working police night shifts and caring for premature twins on oxygen tanks, sometimes carrying both babies on her body while serving customers
Over the past years, she has turned her store into a community hub through initiatives like a £1,000 cash giveaway, seasonal holiday competitions timed to when people need them most, litter picks, and period poverty campaigns.
Meanwhile, another award-winning retailer in Glasgow did a similar move this week.
Girish Jeeva on Thursday (Feb 26) announced that he is moving his Barmulloch store from Premier to Costcutter.
