Experienced c-store execs launch new consultancy

Three convenience store experts have announced the launch of a new service to support the sector.

John Heagney, Mike Igoe and Jonathan Rons – the retail consultants behind the new venture ‘C-Store Collective’ – have 114 years of collective experience in the convenience channel between them.

The venture looks to support suppliers, retailers and brands with the aim of increasing sales and furthering the success and momentum of the c-store sector.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring our collective knowledge together under one roof,” said Jonathan Rons, founding partner.

“From inception to reality, it became apparent how much we complement each other and as a collective we offer a huge range of support to every type of convenience store operation. I’m really excited to start work on our collective projects and bring together our expertise.”

Veteran retailer John Heagney is a former head of the Nisa symbol group.

Mike Igoe had a long stint at William Jackson Food Group and was part of the team that oversaw Sainsbury’s acquisition of 114 Jacksons Stores in 2004. He then moved to PayPoint as Retail Director and then worked as Commercial Director at Heron Foods till 2018.

Jonathan Rons worked at mobile payment app Zapper and then headed the convenience division of TLM Technologies which provides technological solutions to convenience and fuel retailers.

The C-Store Collective’s services include business coaching and consulting, study tours, site acquisition and development plans, brand ambassadors as well as facilitating direct contact with associated experts.

The firm said its associates can provide insight and guidance in a number of areas that c-store management teams can tap into, giving both independents and multiples access to a wide range of additional skills such as licensing, marketing, data analysis, category advice and store operations.
