Chartered Trading Standards Institute is set to host a free webinar for businesses on the implications of the new Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026, which became law on 29 April.
The online session will take place on 26 June from 11:30am to 1pm via Microsoft Teams and is aimed at businesses involved in the sale of tobacco and vaping products.
Funded by the Department of Health and Social Care, the webinar will focus primarily on the impact of the legislation in England while also outlining upcoming changes for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
According to CTSI, the session will provide retailers with an overview of the new law, including offences being introduced under the Act, amendments to existing legislation and areas that will be subject to further consultation and regulation in the coming months and years.
The Tobacco and Vapes Act has been described by the government as the “greatest piece of public health legislation for decades”, with measures designed to reduce smoking uptake and tackle youth vaping.
The webinar will be delivered by CTSI tobacco and vaping leads David Hunt, Kate Pike and Marsha Bell.
The session will provide 90 minutes of continuing professional development and is free for attendees.
Interested retailers can register for the webinar here.
