COOK recalls two products after mis-packing

COOK Kitchen has issued a recall for its two products, Mango & Passionfruit Cheesecake and Chocolate & Almond Torte because of undeclared allergens.

The Kent-based firm said the packs of the puddings have been mixed up, leading to the omission of allergen information from the label.

Affected of Mango & Passionfruit Cheesecake packaging contains Chocolate & Almond Torte which contains almonds (nuts) and soya not mentioned on the label. The Chocolate & Almond Torte packaging contains Mango & Passionfruit Cheesecake, which contains wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts), and/or, soya and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat (gluten). The firm added that the pudding are fine to eat, otherwise.

Besides recalling the products from its customers, Cook Kitchen has also contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

Shoppers are requested to not eat the products, if they have an allergy to almonds (nuts) and/or soya and/or wheat (gluten), and return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund or call 01732 759010.
