A remarkable day of fundraising and community spirit has resulted in an incredible £22,000 being raised for the Boparan Charitable Trust, helping to continue its life-changing work supporting disabled and seriously ill children across the region.
The funds were raised at the latest Raj Aggarwal Golf and Family Day, held at the world-famous Belfry and organised by businesswoman Sunita Aggarwal, alongside family, friends, supporters and colleagues from across the convenience retail industry.
The event, which has become a highlight in the charity fundraising calendar, was established in memory of Sunita's late husband, Raj Aggarwal, who sadly passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic. Known throughout Leicestershire and the convenience retail sector for his generosity and commitment to helping others.
This year's event brought together supporters from across the convenience store sector and local community for a unique day of entertainment, including golf, a quiz hosted by The Chase star Darragh “The Menace” Ennis, and world cup inspired cocktail making experience.
Speaking after the event, Sunita Aggarwal said: "Thanks to the incredible generosity and support of everyone who attended, sponsored, donated and helped organise the event, we raised an amazing £22,000 to support the work of the Boparan Charitable Trust.
"On behalf of myself, my family, our organising team and the charity, I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts.
"Whether you have supported us since the very beginning or joined us for the first time this year, you have all played a part in making this such a special and life-changing legacy event.

The latest event sees the fundraising for the Boparan Charitable Trust from this event exceed over £100,000 to help change the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children.
