CJ Lang launches new click and collect service

Leading Scottish wholesaler CJ Lang & Son has launched a click and collect service for retailers with a full ambient and selected chilled range.

Available seven days a week, retailers can place orders via its website before 2.30pm and collect them by 6pm the same day. Orders received after 2.30pm will be available for collection the next day.

Colin McLean, chief executive at CJ Lang, said the move is inspired the wholesaler’s work during the COVID-19 pandemic to supply both its SPAR retailers and others.

“Our distribution team has been doing a phenomenal job and also provided a number of retail businesses outside of the SPAR network with product over the past 12 weeks,” McLean said.

“As a result we felt we could expand on this service and provide not only our existing independent SPAR retailers with a click and collect service but also allow other retail trade customers the opportunity to order and collect from our depot in Dundee.”

The service has been in operation since 10 June and the firm is looking to add more products over the next few weeks.

“We are doing all we can to support independent retailing in Scotland and as we work with a growing number of Scottish, UK and international suppliers, we have the ability to offer retail businesses an extensive product range,” McLean added.
