Capri-Sun launches new stronger paper straws

Capri-Sun has announced the launch of its new stronger than ever paper straws, rolling out across its entire UK portfolio in the first quarter of the year.

Developed by Capri-Sun’s team of packaging experts, the next generation straws will still be made from FSC certified paper, but in a new stronger format.

The new paper straws feature 36 per cent more bending force resistance, allow for 18 per cent more compression force, and a 42 per cent increase in vertical compression resistance.

The new straws have been designed to make Capri-Sun even easier for kids to enjoy and comes as part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to product development.

“As part of our commitment to product development, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the Capri-Sun experience and make our products more enjoyable,” Anke von Hanstein, senior marketing manager at Capri-Sun UK, said.

“We’ve taken on board feedback from parents and have created a new paper straw, which is stronger than ever and will make it even easier for kids to enjoy our delicious Capri-Sun range.”

Capri-Sun launches new stronger paper straws

Capri-Sun’s paper straws were first introduced across its iconic pouches in Spring 2021, as a further step in its sustainability journey. As part of this journey, the brand has committed to transition its entire UK range to fully recyclable packaging.

It also comes following the recent launch of Capri-Sun Zero added sugar, which aims to offer parents greater choice as they increasingly turn to low-and-no-sugar drinks options. The new Zero range contains nearly 90 per cent less sugar than Capri-Sun’s original formula, which was reduced in line with HFSS rules last year.
