Camelot, the National Lottery operator, has urged retailers to make use of the sales opportunity from the biggest ever EuroMillions jackpot draw on Friday (04 December).
With an estimated £175 million up for grabs, the jackpot is being supported by a flurry of activity, including TV, radio and print advertising. In addition, special ‘Over £170 million’ posters are being rushed out to more than 20,000 National Lottery retailers to be sited immediately.
“The giant jackpot creates a great talking point and National Lottery retailers could see up to an 81 per cent sales uplift compared with a normal EuroMillions draw. So, it’s well worth asking customers when they’re at the till whether they’d like a Lucky Dip that could potentially be worth £175 million,” commented Jenny Blogg, Camelot’s retail director.
If one UK player takes home the entire sum, they’ll set a new National Lottery record and become Britain’s biggest ever winner.
Anyone who wants to be in with a chance of bagging the huge jackpot should get their tickets well before the 7.30pm cut-off on Friday night. They can make it safer and easier to play in-store by asking for a Lucky Dip.
