Bestway Vans Direct has joined forces with snacking major pladis in an initiative to raise money for frontline services within the NHS.
While the team at Bestway Vans Direct, which operates out of 33 depots across the UK, donated their personal incentives and commissions from all biscuit sales over the last few weeks, pladis matched it pound for pound to reach a total of £7,537.32.
“This is a fabulous initiative driven by our Bestway Vans Direct team and pladis UK & Ireland,” said Dawood Pervez, managing director of Bestway Wholesale.
“[This] illustrates just how passionately everyone is feeling in wanting to help and support the frontline essential workers who are selflessly, and tirelessly, devoting their time to helping others – and doing the most amazing job.”
Scott Snell, customer vice-president at pladis UK & Ireland, commented that the company was bowled over by the sentiment of the Bestway Vans Direct team in giving up their personal commissions.
“We felt that this was an exceptionally selfless act made by the Vans team personally that was worthy of recognition, so we promised to match £-for-£ what the team could raise. We know that the humble biscuit has been bringing people together for generations, so it’s great that we can make a small contribution to a hugely worthy cause,” he said.
