Baked by Rich’s unveils new Thaw & Serve cookie concept for c-stores

Baked by Rich’s, the premium sweet baked goods brand, has announced that its range of cookies created in partnership with Nestlé Professional is now available to convenience retailers in a simple, yet sales-driving, Thaw & Serve concept.

Designed to allow stores without bakery facilities to offer fresh, coffee-shop quality cookies, the Thaw & Serve range is delivered frozen. Staff simply need to let the product thaw overnight before displaying the next day. The cookies have a shelf life of five days once defrosted.

The brand added that the solution will also helps businesses to mitigate waste; retailers only need to defrost what they know will sell each day. Sites with an in-store bakery can also save on energy costs as Thaw & Serve doesn’t require use of the oven.

The ‘Baked by Rich’s, Made With…’ range includes Quality Street Matchmakers Zingy Orange, Aero Bubbles Peppermint and Little Rolo cookies. The Thaw & Serve format of the three household-favourite flavours, backed by Rich Products’ bakery expertise, are sold with four cookies per bag, ideal for shoppers to take home and share or enjoy on the go.

“Our Baked by Rich’s, Made With…’ bake-off collection has seen huge success since launching last year. Not least because retailers, foodservice operators and consumers alike are excited by the merging of globally recognised confectionery brands with an indulgent cookie format,” John Want, sales, marketing and R&D director at Rich’s, said.

“Now, we’re delighted to open up the range to more convenience retailers – no matter their store size or facilities. Thaw & Serve really is a simple yet effective way to profit from a fresh bakery offer, with the added benefit of avoiding waste, and we’re confident it will help boost the bottom line of businesses across the UK.”
