A Warrington store was robbed on Thursday (28) by two men armed with a knife and hammer, stated recent reports.
The men, who police say were believed to be carrying a knife and a hammer, stole a quantity of cigarettes from the One Stop convenience store on Cinnamon Lane North in Poulton-with-Fearnhead.
As per reports, soon after 10 pm, two men approached a member of staff who was closing the store at the time. They told the staff member to open the door and then took the keys. After stealing the items they then fled in a car, reports said.
Two accused were described as white- approximately 5’7” to 5’10” tall. One of them was dressed in grey and dark green while the other accused was in black. Both allegedly had hid their faces through balaclavas.
After stealing the items they then fled in a car, Cheshire police said.
Detectives are continuing with their enquiries and asking anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Victoria Tait, from Warrington CID, said, “Officers have been reviewing CCTV and conducting house-to-house enquiries as part of their enquiries.
“I am also encouraging members of the public who may have been in the area, where these two men were, to contact police if you have information that may assist with our enquiries.
“I would also ask residents and drivers to check their CCTV or dash cam footage and come forward if you believe it may be useful to the investigation.
“The member of staff was not injured during the robbery and immediately contacted police.”
