Armed robber assaults and injures shop worker in Bournemouth
Dorset Police have issued a CCTV image of the suspect as they investigate an armed robbery at the Kings Park convenience store in Bournemouth.

A shop worker has sustained injuries to his head and hand after being assaulted during an armed robbery in Bournemouth last week.

The attack happened at the Kings Park convenience store in Ashley Road in Boscombe at around 10.45pm on 30 December.

In the horrifying incident, the offender assaulted a male member of staff with a piece of wood before producing a screwdriver from his waistband and threatening him. He left the store after the victim handed over a quantity of cash from the till.

The shop worker was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to his head and hand that were not believed to be serious, the police said.

Detectives investigating the incident have issued a CCTV image of the suspect, appealing for information and witnesses.

“This was understandably an extremely distressing ordeal for the victim, who was attacked while simply doing his job,” Detective Constable Neil Causebrook, of Bournemouth CID, said.

“We have launched a detailed investigation into this robbery and have obtained CCTV images of the suspect. I would urge anyone who recognises him, or who has any further information relating to this incident, to please contact us immediately.

“I am particularly keen to hear from any witnesses, as our enquiries indicate that there was a man who raised the alarm with passers by after the incident, but we have not been able obtain his details.”
