Allwyn: final call for Local Retail Champions entries

Allwyn: final call for Local Retail Champions entries

Key Summary

  • Entry period for 2025 awards closes on Sunday night (19 October)
  • Double-digit increase in nominations year-on-year, with over 670 individual retailers already recognised by their customers

National Lottery operator Allwyn is urging retailers to get involved in Local Retail Champions 2025 before nominations close this Sunday (19 October) at midnight.

More than 670 National Lottery retailers have already been nominated across the national and regional award categories – a 10 per cent increase compared to the same point last year.

And there’s still time for other community-minded shopkeepers to join them. They can encourage their customers to visit www.tnllocalretailchampions.co.uk to share why their local store goes above and beyond for their community.

Meanwhile, entries have been flooding in for the new Innovation Awards, with over 270 retailers already submitting their creative ideas about how they would celebrate and bring to life Good Causes in-store. To enter, retailers simply need to visit www.TNLPartners.co.uk and submit their idea.

Some examples of ideas about how to bring Good Causes to life include: a retailer painting a community mural on their shop exterior to highlight local Good Causes; hosting a street party celebrating the local community and local Good Causes; or installing a neon sign in store that tells customers how much they've helped raise for Good Causes.

Prizes available in Local Retail Champions 2025:

  • Two National Winners (customer nomination): £15,000 cash prize each
  • 16 Regional Winners (customer nomination): £5,000 cash prize each
  • Two Innovation Award Winners (retailer self-entry): £2,500 cash prize plus up to £2,500 to bring their idea to life in-store

“We’ve seen an incredible response so far from National Lottery retailers and their customers – and if last year is anything to go by, we expect a final surge in nominations as we approach Sunday’s deadline,” said Allwyn’s Director of Commercial Partnerships and Retail Sales, Alison Acquaye-Acford. “Retailers can get involved by highlighting the initiative to customers and suggesting they nominate them, or by showcasing their creativity by submitting an idea for the Innovation Awards. We’ve been blown away by some of the customer stories and Good Causes ideas from retailers so far, and we can’t wait to see even more!”
