Stay compliant with convenience store signage guide

Convenience store body Association of Convenience Store (ACS) today (July 16) has published a new guide for convenience store retailers, outlining all of the different signs and notices that local shops need to display in store to stay on the right side of the law.

The guidance is split into three easy to follow sections – signage that you must display regardless of what you sell in the store; signage that you must display if you sell a certain category of product (for example tobacco); and signage that is not a legal requirement but that it is recommended that you display for customers.


ACS chief executive James Lowman said, “This is a great resource for anyone running a store to check that they’re doing everything they need to do to communicate different rules and regulations to customers.

"It’s also an excellent starting point for anyone opening a new store to ensure that they’re on the right side of the law when it comes to in-store signage, as well as highlighting some of the effective long running campaigns like Challenge 25 and ShopKind that are proudly on display in thousands of local shops.”
