The Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) has urged local shop workers to provide their views on employment in the convenience sector as part of the 2021 Colleague Survey.

The survey, now in its sixth year, seeks feedback on experiences of working in the sector, training and progression, working environments and wellbeing, employment contracts and life outside work, pay and the benefits of working in the convenience sector.

The survey contributes to the ACS’ Local Shop Report and other research projects, in addition to informing discussions with the Government about the impact and value of local shops and the issues faced by people working in the convenience sector.

“We are encouraging all convenience colleagues to make their voice heard by taking part in our Colleague Survey their views on employment in the convenience sector to help form a clear picture of what it is like to work in local shops,” James Lowman, ACS chief executive, said.

“The Colleague Survey has become an extremely important part of our work and the narrative that we have built for politicians and the media about our industry.”

The survey is open until 19 February. All participants will be entered into a prize draw to win one of five £100 One4all vouchers with winners notified by 24 March.
