Clearspring launches premium Japanese Gyokuro and Matcha Sencha loose tea

Japanese and Organic Fine Foods specialist Clearspring has added two premium quality loose teas to its Japanese teas range: Clearspring Organic Gyokuro Green Tea and Clearspring Organic Japanese Matcha Sencha. They are being launched in 85g sustainable and reusable tea tins, featuring Clearspring’s new-look design.

Gyokuro tea is considered one of the most premium teas in Japan. Clearspring’s Gyokuro has been shade-grown for 20 days, following which the leaves are carefully steamed, rolled, and dried immediately after harvesting. This helps to lock in the freshness and aroma, giving the tea its elegant and umami-rich flavour.

Clearspring Organic Japanese Matcha Sencha is a blend of Japanese Sencha, married
with ceremonial-grade Matcha. Using oorganic green tea leaves, it delivers abalance of flavours.

“We are very excited to be adding these two premium quality loose teas to our authentic Japanesetea range,” said Maria Dawson, Director at Clearspring. “We have seen the popularity of our loose teas range continue to grow over the past fewyears. More and more people are making their tea occasions more indulgent by brewing loose tea
and enjoying the rich and full flavour it delivers.”

Both teas are grown in the Kyoto and Kyushu areas of Japan, known to grow some of the finest tea in Japan. They are produced by third-generation family tea-makers, using  green tea leaves which are organically and sustainably grown and cultivated using an ancient
farming approach known as Nature Farming, which builds up soil vitality by maintaining a semi-wild environment, where the plants are not overly protected and gain nourishment from repeated applications of compost made from tea clippings and dried leaves.

The new loose teas join Clearspring’s existing Organic Japanese tea range which includes four traditional loose teas, a ten-strong tea bag offering and the Matcha range.
